Nir Bahe̜d Ner (/nir/ /ˈbahe̜d/ [loyal] [knight]) is a temperate Town located in the Gde̜ngwatyod Moot of the Viceroyalty of Rosid.

The name Nir Bahe̜d Ner is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Nir Bahe̜d Ner was founded by Zënkdo Pemosad, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Nir Bahe̜d Ner has a yearly average temperature of 5°C (41°F), with its average temperature during the summer being an icy 24°C (75°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant -13°C (9°F). Nir Bahe̜d Ner receives an average of 306 cm/y (120 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Nir Bahe̜d Ner covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3732 m (12244 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Nir Bahe̜d Ner was founded durring the early 12th century in summer of the year 1136, by Zënkdo Pemosad. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Nir Bahe̜d Ner was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the early 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Nir Bahe̜d Ner is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Nir Bahe̜d Ner is buildings are arranged arround a network of restrictive flagstone streets which form a diamond shaped grid, where each diamond verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller diamond has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town sits comfortably behind a palisade wall complete with a timber gatehouse and battlments. The town's timber-based walls are visibly old, but also obviously well maintained. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with routine mantance of the town's defences.

A look around Nir Bahe̜d Ner gives you an uneasy feeling. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring jsut long enough for it to be uncomfortable.

Civic Infrastructure

Nir Bahe̜d Ner has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Nir Bahe̜d Ner. Nir Bahe̜d Ner has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Nir Bahe̜d Ner's natural decorations nor waterways.

Nir Bahe̜d Ner has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Nir Bahe̜d Ner has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Nir Bahe̜d Ner's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known for its fluid and florid elaborate style, comprising ornate, asymmetric designs and pastel shades. It is often considered to be a playful, light style, which made exuberant use of curves and emphasized subtle asymmetry in the general shape of its structures. Walls, ceilings and moldings are decorated with numerous interlacing of curves and counter-curves based on the shapes of ‘C’ and ‘S’, along with shell forms and other naturalistic shapes.

In Nir Bahe̜d Ner every night at precisely midnight every structure in town is engulfed by sailors fire until the end of the witching hour.
